List of requirements


Step 1

  1. Recite the posuk Kol Yisroel from the “12 Pesukim” and explain its meaning.
  2. Show at least one source in Chumash for the coming of Moshiach and the Messianic era.
  3. Describe which qualities Moshiach must have, particularly in the following areas:
    1. lineage;
    2. leadership;
    3. knowledge in Torah;
    4. ability to make miracles.
  4. Give three examples of how we see the eminent arrival of Moshiach from recent world events.
  5. Suggest five (5) examples of things you can do to help bring Moshiach.
  6. Explain the following:
    1. the purpose of why Jews are in Golus;
    2. the reasons for which we are waiting for Moshiach to come;
    3. what will change upon Moshiach's arrival;
    4. at what time and under what conditions Moshiach may come.


Step Two

  1. Summarize three (3) different sections of Nach (Prophets and Writings) which discuss Moshiach and the Messianic era.
  2. Recite the 12th and 13th Principles of Faith.
  3. Explain the following:
    1. the steps which must be accomplished by someone which shows he is b'chezkas (likely to be) Moshiach;
    2. what must be further done to show that he is Moshiach vadai (for sure).
  4. Explain the three (3) roles that Moshiach will have within the Jewish people.
  5. Explain the meaning of the comparison between the seven thousand years of the world to the seven days of the week, and the significance to us nowadays.
  6. Draw the following items from the Beis Hamikdosh:
    1. the Menorah;
    2. the outer Mizbe'ach;
    3. the golden Mizbe'ach;
    4. the Aron;
    5. the Shulchan.


Step Three

  1. Summarize five (5) things taught by our Sages in the gemara (Talmud) regarding Moshiach and the Messianic era.
  2. Explain the phases in the coming of the Messianic era, from our days until techiyas hameisim (revival of the dead).
  3. Explain what will be the role of the synagogues currently outside of the land of Israel when Moshiach comes.
  4. Summarize the story of the Ba'al Shem Tov's conversation with Moshiach. Explain what this story teaches us.
  5. Draw a floor plan of the Beis Hamikdosh (birds-eye view).
  6. Write at least 75 words on what you are able to do to help bring Moshiach.
